The two boys began trading hits, yelling at the top of their lungs. Bruce turned back to the webcam just as Damian leapt on top of Tim’s back, a high-pitched battle cry torn from his lips.
“Mr. Hodges,” he said cheerfully, unflinching as Tim threw Damian into the wet bar sink. “Have you had a chance to examine the chart I pointed out?”

"Guys like us." Batman repeats the phrase as if it's the first time he's heard it, and Clark swears that he almost quirks a smile. Then the moment passes, and he closes off again. "Thanks, but I work alone."
Clark holds up his hands and rises back into the air. "Fair enough. If you ever change your mind, you know where to find me."
That should be the end of it, and it's fully what Clark intends. But some less-than-stellar impulse (he does occasionally have those, contrary to popular consensus) prompts him to take a brief peek through Batman's mask, if only for simple curiosity's sake.
He nearly drops out of the sky.

Scattered across the large conference table were a variety of brightly wrapped gifts. Glittery bows, colorful paper, and handmade cards stood in stark contrast to the usual seriousness of the room.
“Um, did we miss a birthday?” Flash asked, zipping around the table to inspect the gifts.
“Doesn’t seem like it,” Wonder Woman said, picking up a card adorned with a crayon-drawn bat symbol. She opened it and read aloud, “‘Happy Father’s Day, Dad…We love you. From, your Bat-family.’”
The room fell silent. All eyes turned to Batman, who had just entered the room, clearly taken aback by the scene.
“Care to explain, Bats?” Hal asked, struggling to suppress a shit eating grin in amusement.
