“That sounds right up your alley.” Gilbert teases with a hint of a grin, but she can see the way he blinks, long and slow, like sleep might be getting to them both. “I would miss you, though.” He says, and for a moment, Anne is sure she’s heard him wrong.
She watches his face, but he shows no signs of making a joke or any sort of follow-up. “Well,” Anne says a bit uselessly, “I guess you’ll just have to write to me then.”
Gilbert smiles small. “I guess so.”

Jack's first priority is to get Jamie home safe, but Berk's inhabitants - human and otherwise - are certainly not making it easy.
Knowing they will leave Berk and the Vikings behind as soon as they know how to, Jack is not going to risk the pain of growing close to any of these people (or dragons, for that matter). But Hiccup Horrendous Haddock, wearing his heart on his sleeve, doesn't seem to want to take the hint.

In the beginning, there is only the echo of the gunshot. It resounds through the entrance hall, ricocheting between the walls and it merges with the ringing in Hyunsu’s ears. He’d been standing just next to Ui-myeong when he pulled the trigger.
Without another word, Ui-myeong spins around on his heel, and Hyunsu only sees his long raincoat flare out behind him like a pair of enormous, black wings before another gunshot breaks through the ringing, shocked silence and the loud sobbing in the entrance hall. Ui-myeong turns back around, and, without a single muscle or nerve in his face moving, he shoots Hyunsu right through the heart.
Ui-myeong catches him when he collapses, and the last thing Hyunsu knows—blind and deaf to the world—is feeling his limp body get hoisted up over Ui-myeong’s shoulder.
Then, as consciousness abandons him in the memory, Hyunsu slowly wakes up in the present…

He stiffened at the intimate gesture. Minutes ago, they had been exchanging blows. He was unfamiliar to contact unless it was hurt, or to hurt. Donald was about to roughly shove Gray off him when he heard muffled sobbing.
Awkwardly, he sighed and patted the other's back.
“I saw you die.” Gray sniffed, finally removing his face from his shoulder.
Lingering hands were still grasping at Donald, afraid to let go. The crying had added a faint flush and a wet sheen to Gray’s face which was scrutinising him with worry. Pearly white teeth were anxiously biting at pouty lips, dying them from pink to rouge.
“I know,” Donald smirked.
