50 years after an Incident involving local rival werewolves, Vampire Queen Kristin and her clan (Phil, Wilbur, and Tommy) arise from a healing slumber to find their palace in disrepair and signs of another presence, some unknown creature or individual dodging around their notice and stealing from them.

Bat Hybrid Technoblade found himself a nice family to stay with after getting out of a very bad place. It's been a nice peaceful year, but it's suddenly much harder to socialize with them now that they're awake and might actually look at him or even (god forbid) try to socialize back.

Summary
Technoblade was a piglin hybrid on the run from everywhere he'd ever been. He also had a handful of really specific semi-magical health conditions and an eccentric enough personality that people in new places always got very suspicious of him very fast.
In the latest village he'd been staying in, he made a handful of friends and probably no enemies. Or so he thought. An attack in the woods caught him off guard, but fortunately some of his new friends intervened!
Sure, he got knocked out during the rescue, but they brought him to safety and everything was going to be soooooo fine. Surely.-
(Techno is a weird enough piglin hybrid that people, including monster hunters and some of the monsters themselves, can mistake him for a vampire. A vampire hunter going after SBI tries to attack him, SBI intervenes because they've each met and befriended him before, and they take the funny little "fledgling vampire" home with them. It takes a hot minute for anyone to recognize the mistake. But hey, it's free fledgling one way or another, right?)

Summary
So. Wither skeletons. Technoblade knew his way around those pretty well by now, he would think, considering how many of their skulls he'd collected. Tall, deformed, bones blackened by fire and smoke and probably some kind of screwed up magic, carried stone swords around and couldn't fit through normal sized doorways.
There were one or two other little things that made them more dangerous, like the withering effect that empowered their attacks, not that Technoblade ever had trouble with something silly like that.
Technoblade never dies, after all. And Technoblade was not a loser, either, or a noob, or bald or cringe or any of the things the voices in his head were chanting at him when they all bore witness to him reaching for his healing potion only to find the bottle already empty.
This was fine, it would be fine.

The last time Zaknafein picked up a sword, he saw red. His vision was clouded with it, with the heat coming off the bubbling pools of hot acid below him as he stalked forwards, limbs as smooth as they had been in life, but completely out of his control, puppeted by the foul Matron Malice.
