Acknowledgement of the existence of scorpions. Extensive discussion of the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution. The Avengers all live in the tower and the exact timing in the MCU world being *hand waves*

    Warnings for: canon typical superhero violence, period typical (the period being present day) transphobia and homophobia. The existence of transphobia and homophobia are central to the plot, but there is no gratuitous detail of people being shitty. Extensive discussion of legislation against gender-affirming care (specifically: the characters are trying to stop such legislation).

    To celebrate reaching a milestone in followers, I offered to write some thank you fics. Not surprisingly, most of my followers asked for smut. There is some other stuff here though, I promise.

    15: Coda for A Higher Form of War Part I
    16: Coda Part II
    Anon requested something from A Higher Form of War, specifically dealing with Steve's scars. I took that as both physical and otherwise.

    Wherein Steve's issues have issues, Bucky is the head cheerleader for Team Tony, and Tony does everything right.

    Set a few months after the end of the main fic and years prior to the epilogue.

    If you have not read that fic, I cannot imagine any of this will make a bit of sense.

    Please note: This chapter deals with the aftermath of various traumas and issues that we would now identify as PTSD. It also deals with a prior encounter with Hammer that had non-con elements. Please be kind to yourselves and read (listen) accordingly.

General Thaddeus Ross wants a perfectly obedient super-soldier at his command, and to that end, he sets out to break Steve to his will. As Steve struggles to come to terms with all he has lost, his life in captivity is only made bearable by the presence of another prisoner-- another super-soldier known only as "Soldat".
    Then the Avengers strike a deal with Ross to "borrow" him for missions, and Steve is faced with a team who dislikes him, an organization he doesn't trust, and the question of what he's willing to do to escape Ross's clutches.

    Tony knows it’s the exact opposite with him and Steve. He fires Steve up; it’s all heat and tension, sharp edges rubbing against sharp edges.

    Eventually the sharp edges get worn down and they fit together like they were made to be that way. And then they find new ways to create friction.
