When Danny finds a mostly-living boy on the Ghost Zone side of a rank as hell (but apparently natural??) portal, well, it’s free friend! Jason has no idea what's going on, how he's alive, or why he is... wherever he is, but he's gotten three whole friends out of it, and Danny clearly needs some help. Maybe solving Jason's problems can help solve Danny's, too?

Bookmarker's Notes
In the year 202 of the Fourth Era, in the month of Second Seed, the Sun rises on a changed Skyrim.
After the conflict with the Thalmor, The Reach is a wasteland of ashes.
Under Noster Eagle-Eye, and the Ebony Warrior, the men of Blackreach have broken the Thalmor in Skyrim.
The Dragon Priest Morokei has been defeated, though the cost was high.
Now, only five princes remain in Oblivion. The Dragonborn is missing.
Draugr roam far from their crypts, in large numbers and with cunning tactics.
The stars stand still in the sky: even the Serpent; ever-random in movements, is sitting in place.
As stars fall, it becomes plain: Reality itself is unraveling.
No matter what historians might claim in years after, the 9th of Second Seed was not the day everything changed. But it was the day the change became visible.
On that day, the stars came out before sundown. On that day, the sun began repeating the same course.
And the Moot has yet to choose a High King.
Thorald Gray-Mane and the men of Blackreach have a part to play. Farengar sends the Companions to High Hrothgar itself, to speak with a dragon. Gelebor departs Darkfall Cave at his god's bidding. Teldryn Sero and his employer Vidrald, are fetching the parts they'll need.
This is not a crisis to be ended by a lone hero, but by many ordinary people. Each player has his or her role in the scheme to come. Some collaborate. Some are not even aware the others exist. All are needed to bring an end to the Shadow Unending, to un-jam the bar that has stopped the very wheel of Aetherius in place.-
This is technically the fourth and last installment in a three part series. It doesn't suffer from being read as a standalone at all. Everything that came before it is either explained clearly in-story when the narrator who wasn't there needs to hear about it, or not relevant at all. The Dragonborn never does show up; but that's not a problem. He's mentioned multiple times by people who've seen him: he's busy doing something not-on-mundus. The Hero of Kvatch does show up, in a very surprising role that takes some reading between the lines to spot.
There are some original characters. They're very good characters. Zaryth the Dunmer wizard in particular is a refreshing one, she's very much a TES Morrowind character. There are also some non-OC characters, who are people we do know traveling under false names. All in all, Shadow Unending demonstrates a very good grasp of Elder Scrolls on more than the surface level, and even the blatant divine intervention is palatable - it's not cheap. At all. This is a story about ordinary and some extra-ordinary people stepping up to do what they can do. And the ending was very satisfactory. -

Three hundred years is a terribly long time.
~76~Jack's brother gravely surveys the sorrowing Guardians through their shared vision, passing along the impression of a tight, worried shrug. I know not. Aster came to Santoff Claussen and claimed we would not be needed. But if you ask, we will come. Needed or not, I will come if my little brother wants. You should not ever be alone — and I sense much aloneness keeping you company, but none of the Guardians. They are failing you.

Summary
Someone sits down beside him, and he spares only a brief sideways glance to confirm its identity, though he barely needs to. The roiling mass of shackled souls, all but radiating chaotic pain and anger, could be no one other than the homunculus his son is traveling with. The creature is quieter than it was earlier when they first met, but he feels its eyes on his skin nonetheless. He keeps his gaze on the fire, feels his shoulders tighten a little against his will.
“So, you’re Ed’s dad, huh?”
He starts, despite himself.
That’s a different voice.
Just before the Promised Day, Hohenheim meets a boy beside a fire.

Bookmarker's Notes
A story about an honorable man of the navy, and his actions on encountering the wreck of the Black Pearl. And the respect owed to a worthy foe.
Written in 2006.
He might not have been overly fond of Sparrow, but it seemed profoundly unjust that he should die at the hands of worse scum in apparent retribution for one of the more decent acts of his career. A glance around the ship confirmed that such sentiment was widespread. This was not right.
Some felt that this was not a fitting end for the legend. Some hated that pirates had taken life again in their waters at all. Some believed only the men of the Royal Navy should have brought the pirate to final justice. And some, especially those who had met the man in person, simply mourned his passing.
Groves was the first to bow his head, silently removing his hat. A few others followed his example, but most of the men, especially those of lower rank, sent nervous glances up at the Commodore standing expressionless on the upper deck.
Norrington did not appear to take notice, gaze still off somewhere in the fog. He stood so still that it took a few moments for anyone to notice that one hand had risen to remove his own hat so precisely the hairs beneath seemed undisturbed.
And then his lips pressed together in decision, and he turned, taking a few deliberate strides. The hat dropped neatly to rest on the top of a barrel, the hand that had held it seizing a long pole instead. Before any of the still-stunned marines thought to move their commanding officer had skillfully caught Jack Sparrow's battered leather hat on the tip of the pole and brought it up to the reach of his waiting hand.
Holding a pirate's dripping headgear instead of his own, Norrington finally turned to face his men, eyes dark and jaw set.
"We will find who did this," he told them calmly, matter-of-fact. "And they will pay."
And from the very end of the story:
Their business finished, they all turned to go their separate ways. And so none of them heard Norrington mutter under his breath, "I had better get to keep the Dauntless when I go, or there'll be no standing him."Far off in the sunset, laughter echoed in the wind.

“I’m no expert on the matter,” Mustang begins, “but from what the Elrics have explained to me, there are differences between this universe and every other. Those differences inform the transmutation circle that is drawn, so that the process of returning you is less likely to result in a rebound.
“Unfortunately,” he emphasizes, before Shouta can ask what half of those words mean, “one of the key differences between this universe and all the others we’ve encountered so far is that we have functional alchemy. I’m assuming you’re entirely unfamiliar with the concept?”
Shouta resists the urge to bristle at his slightly exasperated tone and simply hums in agreement.Bookmarked by GammaCavy

Summary
Of all the problems Ling thought he would face on his quest for immortality, learning to play nice with the living mess of longing and repression now stuck in his body was not one of them. It shouldn’t have been so hard, since Greed apparently only told the truth, but what Ling was coming to realize was that people were not so easy to make sense of, even when they were living inside his brain.
A six month long character study in which, while trying to understand the guy possessing him, Ling actually comes to understand himself.(Maybe the real desire was for the friends they made along the way)
