Summary
"I need you to pretend to be my…lover.” She tries not to choke on the word.
Wednesday expected Enid to yelp or freeze in shock, perhaps even an astonished scream. What she gets is Enid’s bumbling laughter, almost hysterical in nature. So she stands entirely too still until her friend leans down to hold her stomach and gather her breath.
“Are you done?” She asks after a while.
Enid nods, still having trouble breathing. “Sorry,” she giggles a little and turns her head up to look at Wednesday, the tears in her eyes now made of mirth instead of sorrow. “It’s just…it looked like that was so hard for you to say.”
(or, wednesday lies about needing a fake girlfriend just to have enid spending the break with her)

Summary
Enid turned the shower as hot as it would go, a habit she'd indulged in since childhood. She liked the way the heat opened her lungs and stung against her skin, it made the world outside the steam feel manageably distant. She let the water run over her shoulders and looked at the wall, but her thoughts lingered on Wednesday with an increasingly inconvenient frequency. She had been reframing it, artfully, for a year; telling herself it was concern, or proximity, or the trauma bond you develop with someone after prolonged repeated crisis. She had believed herself, mostly, but the ache in her chest contradicted the truth she’d been holding self-evident. She tried to manage the intractable fact that Wednesday had said “my feelings for you are not unromantic.”, but she had felt the world reorganize itself around those words. She stood beneath the spray of scalding water, palms pressed flat against the black tile of Wednesday’s shower. The bathroom smelled faintly like the sharp bite of Wednesday herself. That somehow made the ache in her chest worse.

Summary
Three months. That is how long Wednesday has been tracking her. Three months of bus stations and frozen rivers and a hand in her pocket that snaps twice when she sleeps. Three months of refusing to call this what it is.
Enid Sinclair is not dead.
Enid Sinclair is a wolf in the Vosges, and Wednesday is going to bring her home, even if home is a country neither of them has ever lived in. Even if the wolf doesn't remember the girl. Even if there is, allegedly, no coming back from what she became.
Wednesday has never been swayed by allegedly.

Summary
“I have no problem hunting you down.” As soon as those words left Wednesday’s mouth, Enid knew there was nothing that she wouldn’t do for Wednesday. She didn’t know how Wednesday had found her, or even why Wednesday bothered, but she knew now that her feelings went far beyond that of a casual friendly roommate.
Enid had spent the majority of Summer break stuck in her wolf form, begging in her mind for Wednesday to make good on her promise. One August afternoon, the bushes shook as a tired and beaten up Wednesday emerged before Enid’s eyes, the sight of the Raven taking Enid out of her form almost immediately. They lock eyes for the first time in months and now have to navigate this time in their lives together, no longer apart.

Summary
She knows what being trapped in wolf form does to a werewolf: eventually, the human side fades. And she sees it already in the creature’s stare; that wildness that hadn’t been there before.
The wolf bolts, and Wednesday lets it vanish into the trees.
or, Wednesday Addams will follow Enid Sinclair to the ends of the earth if that's how it has to be.
