"Radzig will do," he counters. A drop of ale runs down the side of his jaw when he tips his head back to drink, and against all good sense, Kuno's eyes track the motion. The man's throat works when he swallows. He watches that, too.
"If we are to share the road for a bit," Radzig continues, wiping the back of his hand over his mouth, "then I say we should get to know one another. And what better time for it than now, over a cold drink?"

“What do you want?” Radzig asked, voice raspy, as he looked up from between Istvan's legs.
“I could grow used to seeing you on your knees before me,” Istvan said, mouth curling in a smile. “Perhaps I should keep you there.”
Radzig chuckled. “These knees are too old for that, I’m afraid.” He stood up and leaned in towards Istvan, pulling him close for a kiss. Against his mouth, he murmured, “Tell me what else I can give you.”
A shudder ran through Istvan’s body, strong enough that Radzig could feel it. Istvan took a deep breath. “You can’t imagine the ways I would answer that.”
Radzig hosts Istvan for the evening at Skalitz and misses something he won’t recognize until it’s far too late.

His son was battered and bruised, but not broken. As it always was, with Henry.
God above, as it always would be, he’d prayed, over and over again, sitting vigil at Henry’s bedside; for the first time in either of their lives being allowed the simple domesticity of sitting beside his sick child, worrying, and waiting for him to get better.
