Summary
As Alastor was doing his usual night walk in the halls of the hotel he hears whimpers from a certain angels room. He goes to check on the little angel and finds vox attempting murder. He fights vox and saves Emily from a certain death. But when you have a near death experience it's important with good food, so alastor makes some good Jambalaya. This whole experience brings them together and both are certainly surprised by the fact that now it's not sinner and angel, but father and daughter.

Vox is stressed that Alastor won't survive the wound Adam gave him and goes out of his was to find the deer and bring him back home. All while Alastor has to deal with knowing he failed and the consequences from his dealer.
Alastor and Vox has to get to know each other again and this time they learn more than just the basics. Alastor feels both mad and sad that the hotel and its residents didn't come looking for him and had to deal with letting his facade drop and real feeling shine through.

Alastor was already pushing himself relatively upright, but Emily was an angel, and she was bleeding in Hell. It was fine that Charlie didn't even pause. It was fine. She was safe, and that's all that mattered. They'd survive. They always did. They had to.
Sometimes, though, they almost didn't.
But she didn't have to know that.
