Summary
A water bottle landed on his lap, he left it there in favour of studying the trees. "I'm 28." He says, Wade is silent. "I thought I was 25. I was 25 an hour ago. I thought it'd been a few months, a year at the most not — not three."
Wade's grip tightens on the steering wheel.
Peter continues, "I was unconscious for most of it, I guess, so it didn't feel as long but they took so much from me, did so much and made me into…" Peter doesn't finish that sentence. He's not quite ready to say that one out loud.

Summary
Peter has dedicated the past eight years of his life to fighting. Online, Peter is a hero, he walks into the arena and shines, he moves deliberately and lethally and is damn good at what he does. When he logs off and puts the VR headset down, Peter is struggling. He's busy and clumsy, he spends his little free time online, watching shitty sci-fi movies, or studying. The rest of his time is spent at lectures and working minimum wage, still not making enough money for rent each month. But that doesn't seem to deter Wade who, for some unknown reason, thinks Peter deserves the world.

Peter sprinted home. His feet thumped hard on the ground as he dodged around a rapidly approaching taxi. Maybe he should be a tad more careful but his professor insisted that they all stay just ten more minutes (much to Peter's (and the next professor’s) frustration). So now Peter was more than late and he had promised he wouldn’t be late for this event. He couldn’t be late.

The cliche-yet-underrated (and under-written) trope where Peter Parker works at Sister Margaret's, except in this one, Sister Margaret's has been converted into a popular mutant-friendly bar, and no one can figure out how exactly Peter fits in.
That is, until Wade gets just a little too pushy and reveals way more than just Peter's mutation.
Or, 5 times someone comes close to figuring out Peter's identity, and 1 time that someone actually does (and Peter is all too happy about it).
