Summary
After Tom takes Greg out to teach him how to be rich, Greg decides to return the favor and give Tom a tour of how to be poor in the city via St. Mark's. A series of mishaps, of course, inevitably occur.

Tom scoffed, “I’m not fucking crawling on the dirty subway floor. First of all, the suit is dry-clean only. Second of all, I’m not a goddamn dog or toddler. I’m a grown, successful man. And I’m going to hop the turnstile like a man would.”
Gripping the sides of the turnstile with unsure hands, he began to hoist himself over. For a few seconds, he really felt like one of those cool NYU artsy kids he had always secretly been jealous of. That was, of course, before his foot got stuck on the last bar, and he face planted onto the subway floor (more commonly known as a pile of germs, chewed gum, and every single person in the city’s dirty footprints since probably the 19-fucking-40s).
The MTA employee just shook his head with a disappointed look from his box, and a girl leaning on the tiled walls side-eyed them and loudly popped her gum.

“Richie what does that even mean,” Eddie scoffed, “that makes absolutely no sense!”
“Hey,” Richie started, somberly and softly placing his hand on Eddie’s. He paused before his serious face began twisting into his telltale smirk, “it's okay to admit that you're such a virgin you can’t even imagine what I get up to.”

It's all so cliche: Boy meets vampire, vampire stalks boy, boy falls in love with vampire, vampire engages in torrid love affair with boy, boy asks to become vampire, vampire performs a lobotomy on boy, boy comes back fifty years later to ruin vampire's life, vampire turns boy into an undead creature of the night and fucks off into the ether.
Okay, maybe it's not cliche, but Daniel does feel like he's living in a bizarro-world rom-com.
Maybe it's not cliche, but Armand knew the second he lied to Louis, the second he erased Daniel's memories, that the bill would come due eventually.

Summary
Daniel is dying, and Armand can’t save him any more than he can save himself. He will not turn Daniel into the monster he is, he will not put an end to his misery by killing him gently, he will not sit beside him to watch him die. Armand is, at heart, a selfish creature.
Perhaps it’s that selfishness what makes him fall to his kneel before Louis, his companion, his victim, and beg him to turn the boy.

They'd had a horrible fight. Daniel, dejected and angry that Armand refused to give him the Dark Gift, stormed out, intending to blow off some steam until he was desperate enough to ask Armand to come get him. Instead, he found himself in the weirdest place, with a bunch of French vampires and an Armand that didn't know him.
