“Running away?” Aegon poses leisurely, leaning against the headboard. Jace can see the glint of teeth when Aegon grins, even in the shadows. “You’re good at that.”
The barb hits right where Aegon wants it to. Jace tries not to let it, but it sneaks under his skin nonetheless, just like Aegon has. Jace wonders when he’ll be able to cut this away. To finish it. He likes things like that. Something with a very clear start and end. Aegon isn’t like that. He’s a cluster of emotion, a mosaic of broken things stitched together that changes in a heartbeat.
It unsettles him, even as it intrigues him.
“There’s nothing to run from,” Jace replies.
Or: Jace fights to be the perfect son, and Aegon wants to drag him down to the depths of depravity with him.

Summary
He couldn't help but ask himself what had gotten into him inviting Criston to his chambers.
He knew the answer very well, buried in his subconscious but not wanting to expose it. Shaking his head as if to dispel his thoughts, he washed his slim but toned torso, burying ideas that would be considered only depravity to Criston or whomever else.
It was the kind of feeling that had been lurking in his mind for years about Aegon.
Witnessing his brother through the years grow into a beautiful man, watching him fuck whatever he could get his hands on, always made Aemond feel jealous. At first, he thought he was jealous of the freedom Aegon had, of the way he could just act however he wanted with no repercussions, but when the realization of the true nature of his jealousy hit him, Aemond spent months praying the Seven to cast away his impure ideas, burying his desires deep inside of him.
He only let those impulses come out at night, in the loneliness of his bed, his brother's name on his lips as he thought of Aegon's soft skin under his fingers, him being the attention of his desires instead of some faceless whore.
Lately, Criston had entered his mind in a similar fashion.
