He felt a stab of shame. It wasn’t what Gillian would think, though he wasn’t sure she really knew what he’d be getting up to tonight. It was the whole weird bacchanalia. A man had died a week ago, and here he was, drinking too much, letting some dude in drag beat him with a paddle, partying with a bunch of guys he didn’t even particularly like. It didn’t feel like him.

Summary
This series is a selection of small (and sometimes large) moments between the episodes where Aeryn struggles to understand John, and sometimes herself. It's about language barriers, but also cultural barriers, the psychology of loneliness and loss, and of course, how their relationship develops, because or despite the barriers.
While each can be read on its own, they do build on and refer to each other. I also occasionally throw in flashbacks to Aeryn's life before Moya that make a lot of assumptions about Peacekeeper life from what little we see onscreen.

Summary
My collected Horatio Hornblower fics, focusing on Archie Kennedy and the back-, behind-, and between-stories I imagine for him.
I write dark, and I ramble. My boys, Arch especially, do not behave well or love well. Terrible things happen to them, some of which I describe. There is conflicted homosexuality and rape and vicious psychological trauma. My interest in these characters is how to string together the pieces we see on the screen, and the sexual emotional relationship lots of us like to imagine, into a satisfying, if tragic whole.
Presented in chronological, not written, order. All the fic are titled (or re-titled) with quotes from poetry and plays. Pre-canon are from Shakespeare and Sheridan. All the Justinian-era fic are from William Blake.

It served him right, somehow, that the best time of his life was with a woman who fucked like a man. How many girls had wished he had stayed awake longer, to talk? Maybe none of them. Maybe that was an arrogant assumption, thinking that anyone he’d been with felt for him what he felt for Aeryn. He’d been with smart girls, and funny girls, and hot girls, but until this point he had never been with someone who would chase him down a wormhole to an alien planet, who would go on the run with him, who would — and could — kill for him, without question. He had never been with someone who protected him.
It made him feel ferociously protective, in return.
