Summary
Ian Gallagher never asked to be abducted by a roguish, grumpy, and suspiciously human-looking alien. And he doesn't know if he has lost his mind when the brooding Star Knight explains that Ian is supposed to be the messiah of an alien civilization all because of a retro arcade game.
Mickey Milkovich is the son of the last Messiah and the last thing he wants to do is travel to his mother's home planet to doom another person to her fate. Not that he is given a choice. But a simple retrieval mission soon becomes something more personal when he meets the bewildered redhead.
Together, they just might change the fate of the galaxy.

Summary
On the run from the law, Mickey seeks shelter in the neighborhood he hasn't seen since he was eight. But something is very wrong. Doors are locked, windows are shuttered, everyone fears sundown, and where his childhood home once stood, he finds a pile of rubble and a severed arm.
Nothing about the South Side makes sense to him until he sits down at the bar next to a certain redhead. It has been sixteen years, but it feels like old times with Ian Gallagher... until it doesn't.

Summary
It's not an easy life, running cargo through space to the very edge of the sun's influence. Eighteen months ago, when Lip wanted to leave their ship, the Fiona Gallagher, Ian didn't think they'd be able to find another mechanic as skilled. Until luck delivers them Mickey. And don't get him wrong, he's brilliant at his job... but Ian needs more than that from the only other person on board his ship. Like an actual conversation that doesn't revolve around maintenance schedules.
In the present, a few weeks after an engine breakdown and a stressful space walk led Ian and Mickey to finally admit their feelings for each other, they reach the relative safety of Odyssey Station. They're hoping for some R&R, and time to enjoy the relationship they're just starting to build together. Odyssey has other plans. Dr Svetlana Yevgenivna needs passage to Earth for herself and some important research. And just to add insult to injury, Svetlana brings a complication even she doesn't know about.
