At seventeen, Midoriya Izuku enters U.A. with a quirk that sets him apart in ways most people can’t quite explain. He’s quiet, observant, and always just a little distant- as if he’s listening to something no one else can hear. It’s easier to keep his head down, to avoid questions, to let people misunderstand him.
Shinsou Hitoshi doesn’t misunderstand- he judges.
Used to being looked down on for his own quirk, Shinsou is quick to assume Izuku is no different from everyone else who never had to struggle. Someone with power. Someone who wouldn’t get it.
He’s wrong.
Because Izuku’s quirk isn’t simple- it’s isolating, invasive, and far heavier than it looks. And the more time they spend together, the more Shinsou starts to notice the small things: the way Izuku hesitates before acting, the way he avoids certain situations, the way something unseen seems to follow him wherever he goes.
What starts as tension slowly shifts into something quieter- curiosity, understanding, and something neither of them expected to find. But getting close to Izuku means seeing the parts he keeps hidden, and not everything he carries is easy to face.

Aizawa is in the middle of listening to a story Mirio is telling Eri when he hears the quiet scuff of a footstep and the click of the lock on the window. He is on his feet in seconds, hands on his capture scarf, as a person tumbles inside and closes the window behind them. They linger for a prolonged second by the window before turning around.
His capture scarf is already in the air by the time he registers that the intruder is a child - likely no older than his own students.
OR
Aizawa's perspective of some of the events of Threads. This will likely not make much sense without having read the original fic this is a spinoff for.

When Nezu finds him a job as a professional analyst at an underground agency, he's sure it's just what he needs to find himself again. It's not like his smoking and less-than-ideal sleeping schedule are going to come back to bite him later...
Shinso Hitoshi is worried about Midoriya. His smiles are weak, the sparkle in his eyes is dim, and he's working a second night job as Metis. He decides it's his time to intervene, just as his friend had when they were in school. He would not allow the other hero to slowly perish as everyone else watches—he's going to help, whether Midoriya likes it or not.
Alternatively, Izuku hates the limelight, finds out he's really good at quirk analysis, falls in love, and rediscovers himself and his quirk in underground heroics.

As they unfold the case, Izuku also starts to discover his harmless little hobby may have more to it than mere curiosity.
Especially when the internet pushes him into writing a ship between Pro Heroes Deku and Hoax.

First semi serious fic but I do try and I want others to be able to enjoy.- also still figuring out how to add tags that are not searchable.
Shinsou knows that logically he is a stalker he basically goes through the list every week, stare in class (god he’s so cute) follow in the dorms (he is so bad at taking care of himself how did he get this far??) watch him as he sleeps from his balcony, walk with him in the hallways so that bitch leaves him alone, all that jazz.
But really it can’t be that bad! His dad is there to steer him in the right direction so he has a chance of dating his best friend!Izuku inherited some traits from his father who has a draconic mutation quirk including cat like eyes, weird extra organs and some….. interesting instincts he is growing into. He’s just happy to have an actual friend! (And first crush-were crushes supposed to be so all consuming?) Hitoshi has been so great and his dad has really helped him with his new quirk!

He didn’t want to be here. Actually, that was a lie, he wanted to be here but he wished this was a regular monthly meeting instead of a vigil. This was the third vigil he’d been to this year, and it was only February.
Last night, a six year old girl named Asami Sato took her life by swallowing a bottle of her mother’s pills. She did this only two hours after her own mother told her she should never have been born.
Asami Sato was born quirkless. She was six, and had not developed a quirk at four like the majority of the population.
Now, Asami Sato was an Orchid. A beautiful, fleeting memory.
