Kakashi Hatake wasn't blind to the horrors that Naruto's life possessed. At times the very knowledge of Naruto's suffering tore him apart.
He saw how the blonde strayed away from touch almost expecting every feeling to be unfriendly.
Saw how Naruto never allowed anyone to take care of him.
It pained him
But this was just too much. He wasn't just going to sit here as the blonde suffered. Nor was he going to allow some unworthy villagers to harm his student further.
Naruto would always be cared for as long as he was around. And he'd be sure that the sunshine blonde knew it.

Tej samej nocy Bruce Wayne odzyskuje syna, tracąc przy tym innego. Jason Todd zjawia się na progu jego domu, podczas gdy Tim Drake znika z powierzchni ziemi, nie pozostawiając za sobą śladu. Część osób, które pozostawił za sobą, wierzy, że nie żyje. Bruce Wayne, wręcz przeciwnie, stara się go odnaleźć, jednak ciężko jest tego dokonać mając na głowie opiekę nad cudownie zmartwychwstałym Jasonem oraz serią dziwnych wydarzeń w Gotham. Dick stara się po prostu utrzymać razem to, co zostało z jego rodziny, a Jason uczy się żyć w nowej rzeczywistości, nie mogąc zapomnieć o swoim następcy.
Tim Drake jednak jak najbardziej żyje (choć czasem wbrew swojej woli) i planuje swój wielki powrót do domu (zyskując niespodziewanego towarzysza).

Summary
When Tim becomes Robin, he remembers his mother’s words: The Bat hates metahumans. But Batman needs a Robin, and Gotham needs Batman, so Tim will act as Robin at whatever cost. It’s a necessary endeavor, and he can hide his metahuman nature well enough.
It’s a different story when someone he holds close is trapped in the medbay, healing so slowly Tim fears they won’t heal at all. Those nights, past midnight’s hour, there is no one to call Tim out on his lies. Tim loves his family; he will not let them hurt when he can help.
It’s all fine and dandy until Tim is the one that’s hurt, and there is no one to sing sweet comforts to little Tim.
