Can’t I admire nature for a second?” He gestured to the picture-like view sitting in front of them: the sky and all its beautiful hues, the trees slowly swaying in the breeze, the sound of monkeys chirping distantly.
Macaque let out a sly chuckle, turning his gaze to look in front of him. “Didn’t think you’d be one for skygazing.”

The silence is suffocating, and Raph feels like he might explode if he doesn’t do something. He tries his best to sit still, but fails miserably, as he can feel his leg bouncing on the floor and his hands tremble as he takes a sip of the water.
“Are you okay?.”, Leo asks, and Raph’s leg bounces even faster now. “You seemed worried.”
“Yeah!”, Raph says a little too loudly. “Yeah, I’m fine.”
Leo fidgets with his hands, seeming to have dropped his phone elsewhere to pay attention to his mess of a brother. “I thought I was supposed to be the anxious one.”, Leo jokes. “Want to tell me what’s going on?”
Raph gulps and tries to formulate an excuse. “You wouldn’t get it.”

They hated it for as long as they could remember. She remembers telling their parents how much she hated dresses, only for them to shove them back into one. She remembers begging them to cut their hair, even just a little, and then refusing to do so because then “She would look manly and that’s not how a lady should look”. She hated how everyone told her what a “fine young lady” she was, and how they tried to convince them that they were one.
Except she wasn’t a woman. They weren’t a man either. They’d figured this out after running away after the Merge and meeting Arin.

It's late at night, and all Raph wants to do is drift to slumber after a particularly hard day of school. Yet at the same time, there was this warm, fuzzy feeling that basically forced him to stay awake.
“…Case…?”
Casey looks up from his phone to Raph's sleepy body. “Yeah?”
“Can ‘u rub mah shell…?”
He asks before properly thinking it over, but the words are out. Once he notices what he just said, however, he hides his head back in his pillow from where he promptly peeked it out. The heat on his cheeks creeps back into him now, and he can hear Casey shuffle on the other side of the bed.
“Turn around.”, he hears Casey say, and Raph does it.

Or, it's late at night, and Raph just wants to be held. Casey obliges. Feelings ensue.

School, Raph quickly learned, was a pain in the ass.
Despite just entering high school (and well, school in general) and becoming New York’s saving grace, they still decided it was a good idea to give him the biggest pile of homework they could ever throw on a fifteen year old. Something that he quickly learned as well was that Math fucking sucked. He didn’t even know how to do half the formulas the teacher even mentioned! And don’t even get him started on Science. Thank whatever godly being exists that he shared that class with Donnie, because he would have trashed the entire class and punched the absolute shit out of everything and everyone if it weren’t for him being there.
Another thing he figured out was that it was kinda hard to make friends.
