    His mind becomes even more numb as he approaches the cliff, he looks just over the edge, the heavy waters that splash against the stone greeting him, calling him.

    He takes another step forwards onto the wooden plates that are held up by the supporting beam, his feet are dangerously close to the edge.

    “Hiccup?”

    He whips his head around as a familiar voice calls his name

    “Astrid” his tired voice replies

    “What are you doing, Hiccup?” She asks, the worry evident in her tone

    “Just Uhm...” he looks behind him and his eyes land on the boats that are almost ready for departure “looking at the boats”

    They both know that’s a lie.

     

    Or: Hiccup doesn’t know what to do after Stoick tells him that he’s not his son, well… maybe he does.

     The village was buzzing with excitement, and everyone was rushing to prepare for the next day.
     After all, an event like that was the perfect excuse to celebrate.
     And Hiccup, well... he was packing his bags.
     Ready to run.
     Like a coward.
     Or maybe, like the only Viking ready to change history.

     

    Hiccup isn’t ready to kill that dragon.
     So he decides to run away—far from Berk, and from all those expectations.
     Too big.
     Too heavy for someone like him.
