Mulan, but Mulan was born as a man, named Ping in this fic. Still follows the same general plot beats as the movie, but the author did some research to remove the mysticism. Continues after the movie story as well.
Ping brought honor to his family by being an opera singer, a nan dan, a singer who specializes in the female roles in the opera.
Shang is still a guy, only Mulan was genderbent.
