Summary
Richard had heard stories of dragons falling in love with humans. They were cautionary tales, meant to ward his kind away from such foolish ideas.
For this reason, he chooses not to call this fleeting infatuation "love". After all, how could he love a man who looks at him with such suspicion, as if he already knows the truth hiding behind his facade? A dragon cannot love a human, and a human cannot love a dragon — no matter the disguise the beast takes on.
He cannot love Florian, for Florian is but a blip in his lengthy lifespan. He cannot love Florian, for Florian knows too much, even if he hasn't said a word about it.
He cannot love Florian, for if he allows himself to stumble now, he will fall. And when Richard chose to walk this path, he vowed to never, ever fall — for falling will mean a swift death for a man such as himself, who lives his life balanced on the blade of a sword.

There were few things Richard hated more than Florian's so-called "help". The man burst in when he wasn't needed, insisted on protecting someone who so rarely needed his protection, and more often than not complicated everything with his mere presence. He knew he was smart; for all his ridiculous heroism, he could tell from their many interactions that Florian was an intelligent person. Yet he seemed insistent on making the most ridiculous, insane, and utterly bullshit choices in matches, all for the sake of extending a teammate's life for a few more seconds.
But still, no matter his disdain, Richard could admit that sometimes, it worked.

“My suspicions were right. You’re enamoured by me.” Knight purrs, his eyes glance down, taking in Florian’s shaken reaction. It was perfect. It was a lesson. Think twice before even daring to look in Richards direction.
“That’s disgusting, Florian Brand.” Words laced with venom, he spits. The pleased expression now turned into disgust, his eyebrows knit perfectly.
Florian is quiet. He looks at Richard’s eyes, from left to right repeatedly, just staring. A strong, red blush flushes through the fire investigators cheeks and ears and he cannot help but just widely grin. This man is just what he needs.
And he thinks Richard needs him too.

I literally can not stop myself when writing for this ship, it's my top ship next to Nortdrew and some other ships, but this one is much easier for me to write for. This one's a short fanfiction because I was supposed to finish this tomorrow [Wednesday] to read to my grandfather but I didn't think I'd get it done properly in time, so it's probably a short one, but nevertheless, I loved writing this one because it's so sweet and wholesome in my opinion. He had trained as an apprentice for many months, and through the experience accumulated in his previous studies, he became capable of restoring artistic and cultural artifacts of considerable variety: paintings, sculptures, prints, and murals among the rest.
And yet, for all his competence, his circumstances had grown increasingly modest. Having appointed himself an independent restorer, he now found that his commissions came predominantly from clients of high social standing who wished him to restore their mothers' wedding rings or faded family paintings rather than the important works destined for museums. It was respectable work, certainly, but unremarkable, and his commissions, if he was honest with himself, had diminished considerably of late. He suspected, with a quiet resignation, that this decline stemmed from a certain work he could never seem to relinquish, not even for a moment, and it is this work that our story concerns.

Astro and Dandy’s friendship has been complicated, at best, for longer than either of them can remember, but was strained even further when twisteds began to appear throughout the museum and Dandy’s involvement was rumored. Astro, despite the situation, can’t help but notice the flower toon’s many repetitive, too-realistic nightmares and do everything in his power to comfort him. The moon quickly realizes that Dandy’s story and trauma is much more complicated than what he’d thought, and, of course, fluff ensues. :]
