Summary
Inspector Javert didn’t dislike Christmas, but he wasn’t particularly fond of it either. He smiled at the carollers when they came to his door, gave money to the charities that provided gifts for the more unfortunate of Paris, and even hung up a wreath on his door. He bought his dog a pre-wrapped bone from the store and allowed himself an expensive cut of meat for Christmas dinner but beyond that, Christmas usually passed without much concern for the inspector.

As Javert sinks ever deeper into delirium, both of them are forced to be honest about the long-buried feelings that now resurface from the depths of Toulon. Valjean must piece by piece let go of his comfortable life as Madeleine in a desperate attempt to save his guard... and the man in Arras, who faces the death penalty in Valjean's name.
How much is Valjean willing to sacrifice to save innocent lives? Can Javert stay alive long enough to save Valjean in return? In the end, do any of them even have a future?

Would love a fic with sharing a bed, awkward old virgin cuddling and comfort. Plus if it focuses on Javert being distrustful or even somewhat fearful of the human touch and gradually becoming able to enjoy it.

Summary
This was very, very wrong on a great many levels. Valjean remembered having seen men in this state back in the bagne. As he recalled, some had recovered from their insanity as time went by. Others never had. It made him shudder to think what could have caused a determined mind like Javert’s to snap like this.
Valjean barely manages to save Javert from damnation, but soon finds that 'salvation' is relative. Lost in his broken mind, Javert struggles to come to terms with the dilemma that drove him to suicide, while Valjean faces the inevitability of losing Cosette and what that will do to his world. All they have is each other, but only time will tell if that will be enough.

Summary
When Jean Valjean takes over management of the Opéra Populaire from Monsieur Lefévre, he knows it's only a matter of time before Javert catches up with him. When he does, Valjean heads for cover in the underbelly of the opéra house, pursued by the relentless Inspector. Unbeknownst to either of them, their presence down below does not go unnoticed, and the opéra's own deus ex machina, the man who calls himself the Phantom, treats them as he does all intruders to his realm. Trapping them in a storage room, Valjean and Javert struggle against the force seeking amusement through their pain, as well as their own volatile relationship.

Instead of committing suicide, Javert goes on a three-day bender. When Valjean finds him, Javert assumes he's a hallucination. Things proceed awkwardly from there.

“Where are you going?” the hallucination asked, which was foolish. Surely his brain knew what Javert planned.
“To the nearest--” Javert paused, looked at the recently vacated wine-ship, and amended what he had been about to say. “To the next wine-shop. Obviously I am not drunk enough if you are here.”
The apparition got to its feet with a wince, as though his mind had ridiculously conjured aches and pains with which to torment Valjean’s specter. “Javert, your words make no sense,” it said, and Javert laughed again.
“I am making perfect sense.” He touched his pocket where he kept his money, frowned. “I hope you are only a drink or two from going away. I do not know how much more beer I can afford.”
