To save them all Takemichi takes away all their memories of his existence. He is back to square one, the original timeline, nobody knows him but they're all alive, Takemichi has to be happy. He manages to fulfil his promise, and he can finally rest, but why is it weighing him down, why does his heart hurts? Thinking and being the background character to those who are supposed to be his friends, what can he do? Nothing. He has paid the price, for their happiness.

    The undergrowth rustles as something pushes through. Neytiri holds her position, bow lifted to her shoulder, string remaining slack.

    She stops breathing all together when it reveals itself.

    Pink pale skin, bright hair helplessly tangled and a small body that shouldn’t be able to walk as freely as it does on her planet peeks through. Neytiri’s breath becomes short with rage as it slowly approaches the river bank, using all four limbs in a kind of imitation of a viperwolf’s loping walk. The edges of her sight turn dark as it turns to the traps in the water.

    A skyperson has been stealing food from her people. A pink skin, whose kind has already taken so much from her planet, deigns to feed itself on their catches. Distantly, she knows she’s becoming incensed, but she can’t help it. Her rage burns through her consciousness so quickly that she’s drawing back an arrow before she can even think about it.

    "You don't get it, man!" Steve said before Dustin could go off on a rant about 'proper use' of the Walkies. He looked down at his lap, unable to meet the others' eyes. "Nothing was touching the lamp. It just exploded, alone. And I think that I did it. Because... I was pretty mad, and it exploded, like, in sync with my thoughts."

    A long silence followed. Steve didn't like silence. Most of the time, it meant something big and awful was coming. The 'calm before the storm'. You know.

    A few months after being injured in the Starcourt Mall "fire", Steve's living a pretty normal life: working with Robin, getting even closer to the Party, avoiding his parents any time he can, etc., etc. So, it comes as a big surprise to everyone that the yearly wave of Upside Down related problems mainly revolves around him.
