I wanted Simon to actually do it, and canon made him think for once, which was frankly disappointing, so this is my rewrite of what might’ve happened if he’d acted first and processed it later, like usual.

Shane gets exactly enough alcohol to sand down his edges, and Ilya spends the whole night watching him laugh with strangers like it's the only thing in the room worth his attention. Then Shane decides they need to ride the mechanical bull. Together. Facing each other. In front of the GM, the strangers, and probably sponsors. Ilya says no. Shane says please. Ilya always says yes in the end.

They run toward a door that leads beneath the world. They find other people, who join them on their quest. This is a fantasy story, first and foremost. Swords and sorcery. Ash and ice. A party, scattered but unbroken, finding each other in the dark — and discovering that the dark finds them back.

He just opens his arms, keeps a hand in Ilya’s hair, and waits until Ilya is ready to let himself be held and tell the truth.

Shane believes in locker room code. Ilya believes in consequences. So when the Metros start running their mouths about Shane, anonymous dirt starts hitting the internet: affairs, gambling debts, condoms “that don’t feel good,” substance abuse, secret kids, and worse. Funny how every insult aimed at Shane seems to cost someone a little more of their reputation.
Shane says nothing. Ilya posts everything. And by the time anyone figures out what’s happening, it’s already too late.

Summary
I'm basically writing the happily-ever-after that they were denied on screen. Post-Stranger Things, Mike Wheeler is a successful author, Will Byers paints for a living, and their house is slowly being taken over by letters from strangers who needed Mike’s stories and decided to tell him so.
They read letters out loud. They argue about chapters that aren’t working. They go on walks when Will’s hands are steady and stay in when they’re not. They build a life out of small, quiet things and hold onto it with both hands.
Basically just soft, domestic, slightly aching Byler about getting older and still being in love about it. Hope y'all enjoy it!!

The text Shane almost sent. Seeing his husband quiet, vulnerable, and still aching over it, Ilya stops joking for once and promises that it'll never happen again. They don't have sex, just kiss, Ilya kissing the living fuck out of Shane, making up for lost kisses.

Summary
I love love love Snowbaz and I haven't written anything for them in AGESSS and I really wanted to, so this is what I came up with.
Basically, Simon says "I love you" first—casually, like it's obvious—while Baz is trying to read on the sofa. Baz promptly has an internal meltdown because Simon NEVER initiates it first, while Simon panics that Baz thinks he's joking. Quite funny really, considering they've been together for ages. But Simon is Simon and Baz is Baz and they're both a hopeless mess when it comes to love.
