Will shifts in Mike’s lap. He brings Mike’s hand to his lips again, and then he presses kisses to the pads of his fingers before whispering, “They’re so long.”

Will bent over, adjusting his lamp so it illuminated the tattooed portion of skin. He looked at it for a moment before taking Mike gently by the wrist, startling him, and drew Mike’s arm closer to his face. Mike sat still, watching the other man examine the tattoo. He resisted the urge to jerk away when Will ran a finger lightly over the ink and clicked his tongue. Will moved his fingers from the tattoo to bare skin, pressing down on it, almost testing it. What was he looking for? Mike’s fingers twitched at the contact and he focused on watching the other man’s face.

He didn’t think he’d be strong enough to keep avoiding Mike either way - not with Mike calling him everyday- but this feels entirely too soon, the memories still fresh. Will feels that if he even thinks about Mike he could feel the phantom of Mike’s fingers digging into his hips, his lips pressing into Wills’ pulse, the thickness of his hair between Wills’ fingers.
The Wheeler’s front door opens on its own, and Will jumps from where he’s standing, letting out a small yelp in surprise.

Enough space for Caleb, his books, and whichever of his friends would deign to visit him. The height of luxury indeed. Back then, Bren’s parents could only afford one bedroom, and young Bren himself had slept in the loft. Frumpkin would curl up on the foot of Bren’s mattress, and he'd wake to the smell of breakfast, the early morning light in his eyes, the rafters brushing his hair when he got up.
Or so it had been once, an entire lifetime ago.
“Veth,” he says.
She looks up at him. Then she grins. “Isn't this exciting?”
“I think so,” Caleb says, a split second too late.

In the days of darkness there was the Spilling - a chemical induced heat driving the elven men of the Underdark into hysteria. Reduced to entertainment for the High Matron when they slayed each other in combat for the right to mate. Naturally the Spilling was banned as soon as the Luxon-blessed elves stepped foot into the sun. A new age bringing equality to the population.
Anyway, heat was something only a select few of the Drow population experienced naturally, so it was said. Men fared worse than women, not possibly able to hide the shame, when it was awakened in one's youth. Essek had certainly not been one of the savage ones that succumbed to heat. Caleb hums in agreement, then settles his cheek against Essek’s thigh. He focuses, situates his mouth and jaw, then relaxes. His eyes fall closed. This is his favorite part, the sinking into simple servitude. All his material components are in his coat, discarded on its hook. His mouth is delightfully, achingly, beautifully full. There is a ring on one of his fingers that could be used as a focus, but he reaches his arms up and grasps Essek’s thighs. Material, verbal, and at last, somatic. An offering: I am now useless in all but this way. Use me.
