Summary
Elphaba glances through the glass and then does a double take, surprised to see Fiyero bent over something in a beaker, being heated by a flame. She stares for a moment longer, trying to come up with any reason he would be here so late. But then he glances up as though sensing her gaze on him, and Elphaba darts away.
She’s only a dozen paces further down the hall when she’s stopped in her tracks by an unexpected flash of light and the sounds of glass shattering. She turns back and freezes, listening: nothing but the sound of her heart beating in her own ears, and she nearly leaves after all. But then the stillness is broken by the sounds of Fiyero cursing in an impressive number of very creative ways.
In which a small mistake in the chemistry lab drastically changes the trajectory of Elphaba and Fiyero's relationship at Shiz.

Summary
Fiyero Tigelaar has one thought inside his head: Elphaba Thropp.
So much so that he goes as far as betraying the Emerald City and its anti-Animal beliefs in order to be the first to find her. But, he quickly finds that one cannot simply outsmart the great Wizard of Oz and Madame Morrible. And Morrible wants the entirety to know that Fiyero Tigelaar is nothing more than the Wicked Witch of the West's dog.
And she takes that quite literally, leading the young prince to find out what it's like to be an Animal in the great land of Oz.
