Finale spoilers!!!
Dustin almost died. Almost got impaled by the mind flayer. But Lucas risked his own life to save him. I don't think Dustin would cope very well with this. I think he'd feel really guilty and responsible. This is the story of the aftermath of the party's success defeating Vecna with a major focus on the friendship of Dustin and Lucas (and the rest of the party).** Note El did not sacrifice herself at all in this story. Although I think it is an important detail of the finale, I wanted to write a story about Dusting working through guilt and needing his friends. I did not want to focus on the grief they all inevitably felt for El post triumph.

I have emetophobia and I read a fanfiction that mentioned Finn hating "getting sick" (aka: throwing up). It was mentioned that "if Puck knew one thing, it was how much Finn hated getting sick." I cannot find the fanfiction/ I don't remember what the actual plot was. I've read too many. Anyway that lead to me creating a headcanon in my head that Finn has emetophobia and Puck knows because they are #childhood best friends. This fanfiction is about Puck helping Finn when he pukes during football practice. -
