Summary
It's not the first time they've been becalmed, but it's the first due to a field of ice for as far as the eye can see. Excluding, of course, the snow and ice covered island a few leagues ahead of them. With the speed of Sanji's skywalking and his responsibility to keep the crew fed, it's only reasonable that he should be the one to go to the island to restock supplies.
Or: They sail in strange waters and encounter strange things. Sanji should have known better.

Sanji met Zoro at Luffy’s fortieth birthday party and thinks he’s found one very good hookup. Then one night became another. Then a route through town. Then coffee in Zoro’s cabinet, matching towels in the bathroom, and a porch light left on before Sanji arrived. Neither of them was built for conventional romance. They become something worth coming back to.
