Eddie places two shaking fingers on Buck's neck, checking for a pulse; it is there, intermittent, weak, and thready. Buck’s eyes are shut, and his breathing is laboured; his chest hardly moves.
He has bruising and a laceration to his left temple, a small streak of blood now comes from the corner of his mouth. There is a pool of red, sticky, warm fluid seeping from wounds across Buck's torso and seeping into his clothes; the rate is alarming.

Buck is severely injured and lies in a coma, his life hangs in the balance between life or death. A story of courage and family.

Summary
Prince Evan, affectionately known as Buck, is the heir his parents never wanted. He’s abandoned all royal duties in favor of throwing outlandish parties and expensive vacations. Unfortunately, after his father steps down, Buck has to fulfill two of his most hated royal duties — kingship and marriage.

Summary
“Hey,” Buck says, in the hospital room after it’s all over. “Just so you know, I’m in love with you.”
His voice is raspy, his smile a little self-deprecating. His eyes, when Eddie stares at him in surprise, are steady and blue. He doesn't sound like he’s blurting something out, or getting something off his chest, or confessing something he’s embarrassed of. He just sounds like he’s telling Eddie about the weather, something mundane. The sun is hot in the sky, they’re in New Mexico, and Buck is, apparently, in love with him.
Buck confesses to Eddie after the kidnapping. Eddie, in a fit of madness, accepts his confession. It'll be fine - just because Eddie isn't in love with Buck, doesn't mean he can't be his boyfriend.

Summary
“Is it weird that I’ve always wanted someone to kiss me like that?” Eddie says, mouth completely skipping that whole ask-brain-for-permission-first thing.
“No weirder than me always wanting to kiss someone like that,” Buck replies.
Every bit of oxygen is sucked out of the room. The movie is still playing, but Eddie can’t hear it over the ringing in his ears. His eyes snap to Buck, who is rhythmically puffing his cheeks out and picking at the label on his bottle of soda.
Five time Buck and Eddie kiss platonically, and one time they don't.
