Puzzles is still facing the window with his back turned to them, when he cuts WPNZ off.
“I was planning on double-crossing the two of you, you know.”
His voice sounds distracted, or perhaps more accurately, detached. With a healthy hint of hysteria bubbling underneath that level, empty tone. WPNZ doesn’t react right away, merely stares at the turned back for a second or two. Once the words finally register properly in his brain though, he hastily turns towards Toomp, who looks back at him with equal measures of bafflement written in his big eyes.
or. The resident showman was clearly more than just a little bit conflicted on that fated crossroad. So, how about we give him a little helpful push in a different direction?

Summary
Takes place shortly after the movie with the gang all in prison. The Chief comes to the prison to ask Wolf an unexpected favor. Have him and his friends go with her for a class presentation to show that even the best criminals will get caught (And show how awesome of a chief she is for her son). The Bad Guys are excited to finally have a chance to get some fresh air and the possibility to show others that they truly did turn a new leaf.
(Sure this fic is about the Bad Guys... But it actually has more focus on the Chief. ^^ )

In fear that the hedgehog was considering attempting something irreversible and definitely regrettable, Team Dark decided to bring Shadow out of his misery and spend the summer on a vacation by the coast, in the bright and colourful Emerald Town. Shadow was reluctant, but having no say in the matter, went along with his teammates to ease their worries.
However, the vacation had soon gone south, and Shadow found himself further cut off from his allies. That was until he befriended a mysterious girl who spent her days living in the decrepit Death Egg in the nearby lagoon. Without even knowing it, Shadow was starting to change for the better, accepting this girl's kindness and love and learning to appreciate friendship. But who or what is she? And is their connection real?
