No—he’d definitely get caught. That’s a bad idea.
But it’d be warm by the fire—he’d probably live longer if he went down and grabbed some food. Besides, the man just left it there!
His stomach took priority.

Tommy is a child soldier sent to fight a losing battle, only to meet an enemy soldier that doesn’t seem to enjoy the fact that Tommy is a child on the battlefield. (Also, it’s really cold)

Bright eyes stared right back at him as he made direct eye contact with the hybrid. They were blue as the sky, something so familiar yet so pure. His eyes were red-rimmed and glassy from tears. His cheeks were red—but not from blood, it was from the beetroots he had eaten from Technoblade’s garden.

This hybrid is a child. No older than 8 if he had to guess.
The child stared back with pleading eyes, fresh tears spilling down his cheeks as he chirped desperately.
Something within Techno snapped.

He stumbled barefoot across the Gotham cemetery, shirt stiff, skin gray from the earth. His lungs rattled, his ribs ached, and the moon above looked too white, too sharp, like a blade. Every step was agony; every breath, a fight against the coffin that still seemed to close in around him.
He didn’t know his name. Not yet. He didn’t know who he’d been or why the taste of blood felt so familiar on his tongue. All he knew was that he had been dead, and now he wasn’t.
The boy wandered through cracked headstones and rusted iron fences, until the city’s glow swallowed the night. He moved on instinct: alleys, shadows, avoiding headlights, avoiding people. Gotham was a monster, and something inside him whispered that it had already eaten him once.

Mid-patrol, Red Hood gets walloped by discount stage magic and wakes up as a crow. This is, objectively, not ideal. Fleeing on pure instinct, he crash-lands through the window of Jonathan Crane’s very illegal lab… where he discovers Gotham’s resident fear professor has a secret: he absolutely adores corvids.
Instead of becoming an experiment, Jason becomes “Brutus,” unwilling newest member of Crane’s domesticated murder while the doctor lectures about neurochemistry, sets out little bird baths, and runs the most unsettlingly wholesome enrichment program in Gotham.
