He wanted to yell that Eddie was alive even though everyone already knew. He wanted to yell “I told you so!” in the faces of everyone whose words ever dared to lean in the direction of doubt.
He wanted to yell into the rain and thunder and lightning and thank whatever gods existed that they’d brought Eddie back to them— to him.
But Eddie was gone before he had the chance to say or do anything, the vehicle leaving a trail through the thin layer of mud and disappearing into the night.
In the aftermath of the call, Buck is uncharacteristically quiet. It just takes a little push to get him where he needs to be and say what he needs to say.

Buck’s tears had dried not too long ago, but his hands still shook as he wrung them. Bobby had just left to deal with, well, everything, but Buck remained by the truck, refusing to drag his eyes from Eddie for even a second. Eventually it was just Hen and Chim that remained, and Buck could finally see Eddie clearly. The man’s face was streaked with mud, dirt, and blood, his shoulders were bowed and eyes stared blankly off somewhere ahead of him. Buck bit his lips, but it didn’t really help him from asking again. “Is he okay?”

For a second, Eddie switched sides. He thought about how he’d feel if Buck had been the one trapped down there. He would’ve been livid, but even more so, he would’ve been petrified. Even the idea of losing Buck was overwhelmingly unnerving. He couldn’t imagine one day without him, let alone a whole lifetime.
Buck checked in with Eddie, but Eddie should’ve checked in with Buck. He’d been so set on moving forward that he left his closest friend behind.

It's not the first time Eddie has been hurt on the job, and it's not going to be the last, but this time it was so close. One second he was just behind Buck and the next, the building was collapsing and Eddie was just not there. He doesn't remember much after it, only that Bobby and Chimney had hold him back from running straight back there and that an eternity later, they had pulled Eddie from the ground, with just a few scratches here and there.
Buck had not being able to calm himself down for a long while, not even with Eddie's reassuring words against his head, not even with his arms around him.

Write something about that side of Buck and his Seal training, perhaps his old team shows up because of some mission, or he has to use his training to defend someone. As a result the team and Eddie look at him differently
