Summary
“She's mine?” Karlach finally asked. Internally she was kicking herself. She sounded like a total moron, asking the half-elf woman she’d been regularly sleeping with two years ago if the bright red tiefling baby was actually hers.
Like, fucking obviously.
“Oh, yes,” Tav chuckled softly, moving her hand to gently smooth the toddler’s wild hair, “she's yours.”
(obligatory post canon kid-fic with everyone's favorite tiefling)

Summary
“I want to kiss you,” Karlach confessed.
They wanted that too. They also wanted to send their shortsword into her chest to bring her engine to an early, grinding halt. A nice, satisfying screech of metal. They wanted to wrap their hands around her pretty neck as she whimpered her dying breaths, bloody their claws while her blood was still hot. Dusk closed their eyes as they sighed through their nose, shoving down the worst parts of them.
They wanted to give Karlach everything she had missed for an entire decade. They wanted to be a normal tiefling. For just a little while.

Summary
“Don’t try to be cute with me. I should be cross with you.”
“You, cross with me?”
“Yes, crossed with you,” Tav said exasperatedly, throwing her hands up in front of her. Tears started to well up in the corners of her eyes, “You can’t just tell a girl you want to ‘make her see stars’ and then almost get yourself killed the next day!”
(Or; Karlach being a sapphic disaster in three acts)

Summary
On the bright side, she was here. On the material plane. Blue sky and green grass and birds and plants and she had a plan!
Karlach had gotten through step one of her plan swimmingly; 'get far away from anything with tentacles' . That part had actually been pretty easy. Well, except for the almost dying in the crash bit.
Step two was also going pretty well. Well the 'not burning anything down part at least'. Which meant all she had left to do was—
Suddenly, she felt the hairs on her neck stand on end. She got the distinct feeling that she was being watched by someone. Or something. It reminded her of when she found herself two steps away from an ambush, but something was different, very different.

Summary
They moved like a predator ready to spring. Their muscles always tense, their eyes always searching. Even when they were seated amongst their companions and lover they were on edge. Not all this was obvious at first glance. Dusk hid it well, but once Jaheira saw it, it was all she could see.
Her gut reaction told her the worst. And if that was the case, well, there might be some difficult decisions to be made. Her favorite.
(Or; Jaheira discovers a wolf in sheep’s clothing.)

Summary
“Darling,” Karlach spoke softly as she sat up and swung her legs over the side of the mattress. “What is it?”
She already knew the answer, broadly speaking.
Her partner took in deep shuddering breaths as they tried to find the words, their tail moving anxiously from side to side in snappy s-curves. Karlach looked up from lacing her boots when they finally ground out their reply, “I need to– I have to go for a walk.”
