It hadn’t really started with them. The dormitories at Leeds University were known to engage in prank wars, but maybe it had gotten a little out of hand ever since he and Charlie had become involved. Nick hadn’t really cared at all in the beginning, but Charlie Spring had certainly changed that. It really had nothing to do with the way Charlie’s smile made him weak in the knees or the way he managed to make Nick forget every coherent sentence just by being in the same proximity.

Sports day is usually a bit boring, but then everything they thought they knew falls down slowly. Or not that slowly.
How responsible is it to take 200 teenagers to the woods for the school sports day, you say? That's up for discussion, but it is more entertaining for them than just running in the school's yard, for sure. Right?

Nick Nelson is absolutely uninterested in the cute boy who attends the classes where he assists as a TA, and shamelessly flirts with him all the time. He's completely fine. Honestly unfazed. Totally doesn’t have a weird tangle of feelings for him. He’s very much not enamored.
Nick also has never craved a romantic relationship. He has never felt lonely, he has never looked at couples with jealousy burning in the pit of his stomach, has never had to wonder if he'll even get to be in love.
Both of these statements are absolutely unrelated to each other.
(Nick is also definitely not a terrible liar).
