Katsuki has Thursdays off. He had been in the shower and missed the call, so he puts his Voicemail on speaker to hear the message as he cuts vegetables for the curry he’s making for dinner.
Hello, Mr. Katsuki Bakugou. This is Shiro Takayama from Musutafu Hospital North. I’m the social worker assigned to the case of your mother, Mitsuki Bakugou. She has been placed in intensive care as of 10:43AM this morning. You are her second emergency contact after Masaru Bakugou, so we wanted to reach out to you. Feel free to give us a call back if you have any questions or concerns.
Katsuki stares at the phone as if it has suddenly turned into a monkey with three heads. “What the fuck?”

Bakugou of the Demolition Squad is famous for running one of the most popular Youtube channels on the web that regularly blow shit up and jumped off a perfectly good building for shit and giggles. He's also famous for his Cryptid BF™, never appearing on camera except for a few bodyshots and all information on him is kept locked up tighter than Fort Knox, therefore drawing all sort of attention and curiosity toward his mysterious boyfriend.
Deku from Deku Explains is a hopeless chatterbox who is known for uploading 20-30 minutes video that talked about his favorite shows and comics and have one of the most devoted following on Youtube. He also can't seem to shut up about his boyfriend Kacchan, who regularly make his presence on the channel as a disembodied voice.
They should theoretically have nothing in common except a shared platform to host their content and an army of fans with an endless curiosity and devotion to their Youtubers. Vidcon is where we lay our scene and the internet is about to get a rude wake up call.

Katsuki glared at his appraising gaze. It was one thing to be sized up by an enemy or potential ally, but something else entirely to be sized up by some scrawny kid who could barely hold onto his own gun. "Besides, he looks wholly confident and capable to me."
Katsuki placed his hands on his knees and bent forward, narrowing his eyes at the other man. Izuku kept on staring at him without a care in the world and if Katsuki's mother wasn't in the room staring him down and mentally daring him to say something rude to his new client he'd probably have already yelled at the other by now.
Izuku took the chance to walk over to Katsuki, stopping just in front of him and holding his hand out. He grinned from ear to ear and held his other hand behind his back, waiting for Katsuki to grab his hand in a more peaceful manner this time.
"I think I'm really going to enjoy working with you, Katsuki. I hope we can get along really well."
