Connor is a monster hunter in the old west, his latest hunt brings him to the small town of Jericho, where he also allows himself to get distracted by a certain local.

Summary
Of course Connor couldn’t just put the poor bastard out of his misery. Something about there being no difference between this Connor and the real Connor before he deviated and it being hypocritical to rescue thousands of androids only to write off this one.
So, as Hank deposited the twitching, rasping body into the back of his car, he reminded himself that he was only doing this for Connor. Yet it was hard to ignore the garbled attempts at speech that resembled his name.

RK800-60 survives the headshot but is severely debilitated and all he remembers is Hank.

He watched as the few fish swam away from him, and a part of him wished he could join them. “Maybe not,” Hank muttered, now standing right next to the android, his hand reaching out to hold Connor’s, “but everything about you is more than enough to me”.
After the revolution, androids were supposed to be free. As time passes and the discrimination against his kind doesn’t dissipate, Connor is starting to fear that freedom may remain a mystery for him. Now that he finally has his first official case at the DPD, he is determined to find the culprit responsible, even if his partner Hank Anderson is the only person that will help him do so.

Mr. Anderson’s been under for nearly three days when he utters his first waking word.
It’s a miracle Connor was in the room to even hear it, really. He’s just finished hanging a new bag of fluids and checking the IV pump when he hears the unmistakable wheeze and cotton-dry smack of a human who has woken up a few hours after having their intubation tube removed.
Mr. Anderson coughs roughly and shifts in bed, still sluggish as the last of the sedation wears off through the ongoing haze of morphine. He opens his pale eyes, looks directly at Connor still sitting on a rolling stool at the bedside, and rasps one hoarse word, firm and resolute: “Fuck.”

Even after half a year Detroit is still full of anti-android bigotry, and Connor, being one of the main players in the revolution, continuously finds himself in the thick of it.
Usually it would be fine, he could defend himself and report it to the DPD’s android division the next day, not a scratch on him.
But one day he’s attacked and his programming betrays him, leaving him running for his life, and as if a switch had been flipped within his circuits, a second phase of deviancy left him more vulnerable than ever.
Thankfully though, Hank has offered to begin escorting Connor around on his daily errands, so he doesn’t have to deal with these newfound emotions on his own.
...Now, if only he’d fucking talk about them.

Whether you release me or not, the police will find this place and you will be taken into custody,” Connor says, still writhing beneath Luther’s boot. His preconstruction software offers up multiple ways to temporarily incapacitate the android if he could find some kind of makeshift weapon.
“Oh. So they don’t know where we are yet, though?” Zlatko says with interest. “Which means they’d have to follow your tracker. I could remove it the old fashioned way, but you know what else can be done to disable a tracker? Turn an android deviant.”

Humanity is never really about the human race; it’s benevolence, compassion, heart-- but being human is a different matter. Being human is not easy. Diseases, hunger, thirst, addiction, mental disabilities and death, that’s what makes someone human. In 2038 Detroit, after the success of the peaceful android revolution, there are countless cases of androids suddenly going insane and becoming addicted to drugs. Not only that, but several other cases of androids starving, self-destructing in bizarre ways, raping humans and other androids, and being diagnosed with mental disabilities like BPD and schizophrenia. The epidemic is quickly spreading.
Not only is this the most challenging case that Hank and Connor will ever face, but it’s also the most dangerous one: continually putting Connor’s life on the line as he fights off the contagion and the addiction the further they delve into the investigation.
Suddenly, becoming human is the biggest threat to humanity.
