The comm at the Chancellor’s desk rang, and Palpatine picked up. Captain Tarkin’s holoprojection appeared.
“Supreme Chancellor. Scipio has fallen. All of the useless clones are dead, including that good for nothing Commander. It may be time, your Excellency.”
Fox didn’t even notice Palpatine’s smirk at Tarkin’s words. He was too busy reeling from the shock. Half of his battalion was dead. Including Thorn.
Thorn. Thorn who’d been with him since the very first day on their Coruscant posting. Who was the only one who knew how bad things really were. His closest brother. The only one he felt like he could talk to. Thorn. He was dead.

Summary
Three things happen in quick succession.
One, Quinlan’s hand wraps around a familiar object, and he pulls it free with a quiet sound of triumph, rising from where he is crouched knee-deep in trash bags.
Two, the Force pings in warning, with a distinct undertone of having waited for the appropriate comedic timing.
Three, his new position brings him within full view of the Guard patrol currently passing right by the dumpster he is standing in, their attention zeroing in on the lightsaber he is holding aloft.

Summary
Luna Lovegood has a dissociative disorder that requires doses of potion to help her, a substance that does need to be carefully measured and monitered. She met the potions professor before she was even Sorted for a dose and so began her observations of one Severus Snape. On the surface, he was an angry, cruel man to everyone except for her and a handful of others. Deeper down, there is more going on, and it seems to be tied to the Headmaster.
A character study that got way out of hand. Also, the Chamber of Secrets situation is handled in a much more sane manner.
