Summary
A pressure settles into the air, soft and gentle, like having a piece of cloth draped over your body. A proof of his presence that EMF has become all too familiar with these past few months.
A part of them dreads turning around, Knowing what they’ll be met with. They do so anyway. The Champion loves him too much to not.
And as such, they are met with… him.
His smile is off. Too neat. It’s a “perfect” smile, completely dissonant with the messy wide eyed grins that EMF had gotten used to before the incident.
His eyes feel empty. They’re cloudy, the sky blue meshed into a weird blob, reminiscent of a dead body. They’re devoid of life and unfocused in a way that makes him seem bored and uninterested, betraying any illusion the smile was trying to sell.
His skin is pale, unnaturally so. The slight tan that Evbo had accumulated from his time as Master and Champion has all but dissipated, leaving his skin dull and desaturated.
(It’s like being eye to eye with a corpse.)

Summary
The God puts most of his focus on his Champion, still not having moved from his spot, seemingly still standing there after several seconds.
… A part of him wants to talk to them.
Evbo understands, on some level, that it would be inefficient. The Champion was doing his job- being the ruler of Parkour Civilization, that is. and Evbo was busy doing his.
By all accounts, the true “God” was the Admin. or, well, the Champion. He was not supposed to interfere with this world. Rather, his job was simply to make sure any requests his Champion makes goes through without issues. Be completely at their mercy.
Technically, people aren’t even supposed to know he exists. His purpose was to fix any and all technical problems without anyone noticing he was even there. Fix bugs before they take effect. Remain unnoticed.
A thankless job for a being that shouldn’t be able to want anything but the smooth operation of the program.
… Except he couldn’t stop himself from craving that connection, could he?

There are systems he’s never seen yet knows the exact function of, he feels connected to a bunch of programs but none of it feels weird or different , and everything is made up of 1’s, 0’s, pixels and polygons . He feels as every part comes together and creates a world.
His world. This code was the thing that ran Parkour civilization. And he… was the one running it.

He feels himself dropping down further, but instead of falling again, he is lifted off the ground and held against Avery’s chest.

Avery brings Derek dinner.
Closing his eyes, Avery makes a wish and combines the wet and dry ingredients. With each stir, as the mixture thickens, he wishes for Derek to get better. He imagines the allspice and cinnamon like winter-scented steam rising from a hot bath to draw the stiff ache from his muscles; the cumin warming his bones; the turmeric clearing the pressure out of his sinuses and lifting the weighted haze from his mind. Avery adds a dash of honey and thinks of sweetness, of taking Derek outside in the sunshine somehow, wrapping him in a blanket and turning his face to the wind and sky. It is the closest thing to magic that exists in a world of science and gods. He cooks as an act of devotion, willing Derek back to health by the spoonful.
