Summary

Summary
While on a mission post-Predathos, Orym suffers a grievous injury. Seedling's magic can heal him, but Ashton will have to go to extreme lengths to get it back - and it soon becomes clear that he lost more than just his arm in the fight. Orym, Dorian and Ashton lean on each other for reassurance in the aftermath.
(If I had a nickel for every time Orym lost and regrew a limb in one of my fics, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t much, but it sure is weird that it happened twice. But then they had to go and canonically give Seedling the ability to restore severed body parts. What was I supposed to do, really?)

Summary
In an alternate universe, Fearne decides she doesn't want the Spark of Rau'shan. Orym decides to take it in her stead. Ashton tries to be there for them both.
Originally started writing this for the Ashrym Week 2023 prompt: Orym Takes the Shard. Lost steam on it partway through, but decided it was still a fun AU, so I kept plugging away at it. Might revisit it again in the future.

Summary
Thimble flies up and stands on Occtis’s nose, resting her tiny forehead right between his eyebrows. “You’re my best friend,” she says softly
“I thought that was Thjazi.”
“You can have more than one.”
Occtis smiles even though he feels like he’s about to cry again. “I only have one.”
That moment, right before Thimble breaks the silence, will later become a beautiful, crystalline memory, one Occtis will return to in those times when he’s struggling to hold on to his values, to his very sense of self. The first time he had ever felt accepted for all of who he was.
---
A friendship that started when Occtis was nine years old and a pixie flew into his room, and how it endures through death and back again.

Summary
Olgud expected Hal to crash, but he expected it to come in a month or two. Maybe a week after Thaisha had to go back to her duties and Thjazi's death hit without her presence to soothe the hurt.
Hal on his doorstep wasn't unfamiliar, but the level of bad bad bad bad bad was worse than he'd ever seen it.

Summary
Occtis only knew the rest of the night in flashes.
The overwhelming rush of sensation and imagery and information was thick and sharp and something that felt almost painful. It was more, he thought, than he would have been able to comprehend even on a normal day.
This was so obscenely, absurdly far past normal that there were no words to even try and describe it.
Or: The thing that used to be Occtis Tachonis tries to adjust to his new existence. Hal tries to be gentle with a young man who has had a very long night.

Summary
He does wonder, though, as he watches the rest of the group walking ahead of them, if the others have that same unspoken tension threaded through their shoulders. Their new friends are almost always tense, of course, but… Orym wonders.
If Dorian was easy to help, what can he do for the others?
Or: Seven times Orym uses his friends' love languages, and the one time they use his

Summary
Orym certainly doesn't regret this, exactly. It's what he agreed to, and it's the best option he could have hoped for. All his friends are alive, and all he has to do in return is be of service, a thing he's done all his life. He anticipated the solitude, what he didn't quite anticipate was the sameness, or how miserable it would make him. Even Nana notices. So she offers him a temporary reprieve.
Ashton has spent the last several years adrift, just trying to see the fucking world. He thought that was what he wanted, but something was missing. And if they're being honest with themself, they know exactly what they're missing the most. He was happy in the few days Bells' Hells spent in Zephrah. He felt welcome. But mostly, it's Orym's home. And maybe they feel a little bit closer to him here. Like they could round a corner and find him standing right in front of them. Until one day, he actually is.
Feelings blossom as they rediscover each other in brief snatches of time across years. And maybe, for once, Ashton's willing to let himself reach for something more.
