Sakura dies on October 10th with green eyes that slowly lose their shine and bright pink hair that turns dark with blood. Then Sakura is born on January 12th with dark blue eyes that get lighter and lighter and red hair so dark it looks black more often than not.

This was the best piece of literature I have ever read! 10000000000/10
I have always struggled with the idea of growing old, but somehow reading Sakura learning to live after she long thought she would die is so healing. Life moves on and all we can do is our best and honor those we lost along the way. Also I love the way the women in this story were their own fleshed out individuals and not simply characters who moved along the plot. They all had their individual stories and they left important marks on the story. Way more than the anime ever allowed them to.

His mother had gone to the store and let him pick out what shade of nondescript brown he wanted. He’d chosen a brown almost identical to the great Fire Beeches that towered over their home, he’d love how tall and sturdy they were. How dependable those trees were.

this is my favorite series to write sksk.
its so many things you can do with the whole 'bakudeku' ship + the dekusquad and bakusquad not fully trusting them or taking them as a joke.
its fun writing the dynamics.. and plus i like angst and fucking up relationships so 😖👌
