Summary
Dick’s goal for Thanksgiving (code named Operation F.I.S.H.): A family outing to the aquarium.
It feels achievable - everyone has been getting along better lately, Jason is spiraling closer, Cass is coming home. But there is a lot of unspoken hurt in every direction, and Dick’s own position in the family is shakier than ever since Bruce returned.
If Dick wants to realize his dream of family bonding, there will have to be many painful conversations between all parties. Dick’s own secrets will need to surface, the ones he has long kept submerged, the ones he will fight to sink forever.
(Or: Where Bruce is just a bit darker, even less emotionally available, and treats everyone a little worse, and how they all fix their family anyway.)

"Shit happens," Bakugo gives back, clearly entirely unaffected by Hitoshi's desperate need and not even praying for more patience is going to save this situation.
"Yeah, it definitely will if you don't move," he growls out and Bakugo sends him an insufferable little smirk over his shoulder.
"Make me," he taunts him and Hitoshi freezes up, for just a second, the thought of using his quirk on Bakugo to make him step over more tempting than anything has ever been in life but then Hitoshi remembers himself.
He doesn't need his quirk to get to where he needs to be, not anymore. He regularly hauls himself up into the air, and sometimes does the same to Aizawa when he practices capture manoeuvres. He has this covered.

It keeps happening.
Katsuki will go about his daily life as usual and out of nowhere his breath catches in his chest or his heart stumbles and on one very memorable occasion—movie night with the squad, with Hitoshi inexplicably cuddled up to him—his stomach made somersault after somersault, making Katsuki squeezy enough to not even eat his own food.
It happens during lessons, it happens during training, it happens during sparring, while he cooks, in the common room, when he's out with the squad.
It happens often enough that Katsuki very much fears for his own health but he's not quite desperate enough to go see his cardiologist.
He figures Recovery Girl will have to do for now—surely she'll be able to determine if it's something more serious or something stupid like—an allergy.
Because it could be.

Katsuki throws an annoyed look at the clock. It's way past 2am now and that means it's way past his bedtime but Shinsou is still not home and that means Katsuki can't go to bed.
Usually he wouldn't wait up for him—he'd never get any sleep like that, with Shinsou being an underground hero—but Katsuki knows that today was a special mission, one that made Shinsou worry for days before today and in Katsuki's experience special missions tend to go wrong one way or the other.
So, he's waiting up.

They’re technically in separate blocks but their balconies are close enough they can see into each other’s living rooms. He’s dancing around in his pyjamas. Yodelling at the top of his lungs off-key, swinging his Pomeranian around by the armpits like a furry ragdoll. “You’re a dog! You’re a fluffy little yellow dog and you’re a pain in the ass but you’re still my favourite shit-stain, yeah!”
Izuku bursts out laughing. The neighbour’s head whips around. He yelps when he sees him, tossing the dog on the couch and scrambling out of view to hide in the hall.

"Why did my parents leave me to you?" Bruce asks, with enough childlike genuinity and confusion that Alfred can't even be offended by the slightly backhanded accusation.
In a way, he can agree with the boy's disbelief. Why had Thomas and Martha Wayne left their darling son to a man who they barely knew in any emotional capacity? Serving them lunch and organising their linen closet is hardly a reason to write him into their wills.
Staring down at Bruce, the butler desperately tries to work out how to explain to an eight year old that his parents might have been insane.
But maybe, the insane one is him.

Tim can't believe what he's seeing. He knew it had been many hours since he'd slept, but really, having nightmare hallucinations about Bruce adopting another kid is a bit much.
When he finally finds his voice stuck at the back of his throat, realising this is nothing but an unfortunate reality, Tim smacks a hand over his face, "Bruce, no."
The man frowns, "It's Damian," he whispers in defence.
Tim feels his blood pressure skyrocket from that statement alone, "Like that's any better!"

He always declines as politely as he can, or accepts the baked treat that comes with the number and just throws out the latter.
