Summary
With the rapid innovations in spin-drive technology, a new era of space exploration comes to light, and a surge of volunteers rise up to participate in Project Hail Mary - a series of long-shot missions to Tau Ceti with no guarantee of survival. Thousands of individuals board haphazardly assembled space-faring vessels into the depths of space with the intent to save Earth from the astrophage.
Another species lurks within the depths of these ships, and unfortunately for humanity, it does not have good intentions.

Summary
Mina knows that numbered Kaiju are the most dangerous type of Kaiju. She knows, and everyone else in her clan knows, too. Fast, strong, and possessing inexplicable abilities, the last thing you want is to be caught by a numbered Kaiju. Nothing can compare - not even a Daikaiju.
It's a fate worse than death.
As she finds herself and her group cornered on the massive expanse of a countertop, she is (unwillingly) reminded of this fact.
