Summary
For a single moment, as they lie there on the ground, bodies curled together and fingers intertwined as they stargaze, Percy imagines that there is no Dark Lord or Death Eaters haunting their future. There is no war sitting just out of sight on the horizon. They are safe and in love and nothing can touch them.
They are not yet tainted by the war. Their hands are not bloodied and their minds scarred. They have not seen the fallen bodies of their friends and coworkers and families. The war has not touched them yet.
But it will.

Ginny slowly stood from her chair across the room and moved over to him, curling into the seat next to him as she rested a hesitant hand on his arm. “But you seemed so…normal, Perce.” He swallowed a bitter remark with a nod of his head, wrapping an arm around her, mindlessly flicking a piece of hair side to side.
“That was rather the point,” he muttered, “for the most part I was, at least for appearances sake. A little more animated, perhaps, but I was always competent.” He spat out the word more harshly than he’d intended.
