Summary
“I’m also mad at you,” Ty whispered to him, still grasping at the collar tightly. “You’re not the only one angry.” His voice was smaller, a little lilt of desperation in it. It forced a shudder through Kit’s body, sliding down his spine like a snake and piercing through his stomach, crashing aggressively to the floor. He swallowed. How did this happen?
Kit’s on a mission with his family to lift a curse in the Blackthorn Hall, but is taken by surprise when Ty suddenly appears in the kitchen with his twin sister’s ghost. Since their last interaction ended with him getting his heart broken, he intends to avoid them at any cost. It becomes really hard when Livvy mysteriously disappears, and Ty comes to Kit for help.
Turns out that avoiding your own unresolved feelings towards your old crush isn’t as simple as it sounds. Kit learns this the hard way.

Katsura breathes in again. "But I never thought that you—you—would think the same. Hah! How ironic it is that when I have reconciled that we are just two different, yet similar approaches to a tried and true character archetype—each explored in thoughtful, personal directions—that you would step forward and expose yourself as thinking, oh, as thinking you are above me! Do you suppose yourself at a moral high ground, Kyuubei-dono? Do you?"
"Ah," says Gintoki idly. "You've done it now, Kyuubei-kun."
[Rather than attract it, sometimes like would like to repel like.]

There's a little twist to those lips, one that's too affectionate for Gin to feel properly irritated, so he kisses it away instead. "Morning," he grouses after, because mornings are for sleeping, not existing, and this is a point of contention Gin will never manage to reconcile with Toushirou or the world at large.

"Gintoki can read a little bit," Kotaro says defensively. He can read. Maybe only a little bit, but that's alright—he'll learn in time. "He can write too. He can write his name. He also knows the kanji for 'testicles'."
It is early summer in Hagi, and Katsura is in the throes of love.

Summary
" Of course, Kirara falls. It's film writing 101. The Gintama writers want to have a Kubrick moment too.
Gintoki's body, thankfully, responds before his brain has even processed it. Before she's out of sight, he is launching himself after her. He has no plan except jumping himself, only barely registering that Sougo has thrown him a chain as he plunges into empty air. Against all odds, he manages to grab her hand.
She squeezes back. Because of course she does. No one jumping off a building actually wants to die.
Shinpachi holds a brief, sign-based conversation with her from a nearby building. Kirara's suicidal tendencies fade from her like they were never there in the first place. Gintoki kicks through a window once everyone has had a sufficiently heartfelt arc, safely depositing Kirara inside and ignoring the way the shattered glass scratches his own skin. The paramedics rush in and they don't even look at him, because Kirara clearly needs immediate psychiatric intervention. She just fell off a roof. Gintoki just jumped after her. "
Or:
When the Correspondence Arc takes a turn for the serious, Gintoki is left scrambling.
