Finally, in a clearing of the crowd, Sirius found a little boy. He was dressed head-to-toe in a bear costume, with little round ears on top. Sirius's heart clenched. The kid had tears rolling down his cheeks and was completely alone.
'DAAAAAD,' he wailed again. Sirius cast a few looks around. Surely, one of these people would comfort the boy and help him? They were all parents for god sake! An adult should talk to him and help him find-oh. Sirius was an adult. He hesitantly made his way toward the boy, hoping he wouldn't frighten him. 'DAAAA-'
'Hey kid,' he crouched down to his level, and the boy went quiet looking at him. 'are you lost?'
'I'm l-lost,' his voice broke and a tear fell from his eye.
'Hey, it's okay, we'll find your dad, alright,' Sirius tried to sound calming and comforting, but the kid started sobbing and suddenly he felt way out of his depth. 'Uh- Would you like some ice cream?' The kid immediately quieted down, eyes focusing on the presented gift.
'Y-yes, please,' he took it and held it with both hands. 'Thank you.'

“James.” Pandora spoke up, gaining the male’s attention. He smiled brightly at Pandora before his eyes landed on Regulus, taking some steps closer to them.
Pandora took a quick glance at Regulus to make sure he was still alright before gesturing towards him. “This is Rainier Belcourt, my business partner.”
Regulus took a moment to clear his throat, silently praying that his glamour would keep holding. It always had before but this was James Potter. He held out his hand towards James before speaking with his obscured voice, “It’s a pleasure to meet you Mr Potter. Pandora tells me that you would like us to work on a commission for you.”
James nodded quickly and reached out to gently grab Regulus’ hand. “Thank you for agreeing to meet with me Mr Belcourt.”or, Regulus won the war but ran away to France for two years, coming back as popular landscape painter Rainier Belcourt. James wants to commission a landscape and begs Pandora to get him an appointment with 'Rainier Belcourt'.

Summary
“James,” his voice is low. Steady. It makes James’s stomach churn, because he knows what comes next, yet he still doesn’t manage to suppress a wince when Remus asks, “how the fuck did he know how to get in?”
At this, James goes blank. He’s completely at a loss. No clue what to do.
He nearly blurts it out, right there. Sirius, he almost says, that’s how. Sirius.
But, for some reason, he doesn’t.
James and the thick lenses of his spectacles may be arguably blind, but he’s not that blind. He’s seen the looks Sirius and Remus exchange across rooms, the way their hands brush on tables and it makes both their cheeks turn pink, the way their few hugs always last a bit too long, like they’re savouring it.
James has been in a secret romance long enough to be able to spot one. Or at least, the makings of one. He’d not only be hurting Sirius by telling the truth, he’d be hurting Remus too, possibly more.
So that’s why James takes a deep breath, sits up a little straighter, and does the only thing he knows how to do. Throws himself in the line of fire.
