Dazai knows he doesn't smell like an alpha. He knows his scent is not quite right. An endless winter, the kind that makes your chest ache when you breathe. Spilled ink. A very soft note of vanilla and that sterile scent of antiseptic. Chuuya told him once, while drunk, when they were sixteen that it was a unique aroma, tame for an alpha but very pleasing for Chuuya’s senses.

Do with it as you please.” And right as Chuuya is opening his mouth to ask why, Mori perks up and says, “Ah, I instructed Dazai-kun to take the day off as well.” He smiles serenely. “So you two may spend it together, if you’d like.”
Chuuya’s eye twitches.
In between carnival games and ice cream stands, Chuuya learns a thing or two at seventeen about normalcy, cotton candy, and hand-holding.

Chuuya stared at him in silence for a few moments before he let out a sigh, rubbing his temple. "So you're still acting like a child."
Or, after six more years of separation, Osamu and Chuuya find their way back to each other again. Some things have changed, and some have not. One thing is certain, though; Soukoku are going to make their love drama everybody’s problem.

Summary
“Chuuya!” he shouted, hopping, begging for a reply, even if it was a mindless howl. But no reply ever came. Chuuya’s movements suddenly halted, his body remaining unmoving in the air for a second before it started moving again, limbs turning and twisting in a way a human body shouldn’t allow. The only sound filling the unbearable silence of the night was that of Chuuya’s bones breaking.
Dazai had never thought about what life would be like without Chuuya; a mission gone wrong forces him to find out.

Chuuya turns sharply, a hand almost twitching toward the edge of his coat, and that’s when he sees him.
Tall, lazy posture, an idiotic grin just barely restrained. A cup of coffee in one hand, the other casually shoved in his pocket. The sight alone is enough to send a wave of exasperation crashing over him.
“For fuck’s sake,” Chuuya mutters, the words escaping before he can stop them.
Across the room, Dazai’s grin grows wider. He lifts his coffee cup in a mock toast, and Chuuya knows, deep in his bones, that this day has officially gone to hell.
Dazai and Chuuya are soulmates. Unfortunately.

Or, Dazai Osamu is the latest Angel of Death sent to the mortal realm. When he awakes, he does not expect to find a strange red-haired boy standing over him. When Nakahara Chuuya is on his way home, he does not expect a strange dark-eyed boy to crash-land in his field.

Dazai gave a weak chuckle. “I was trying to fix a spell when my blood got on it. It appears the spell failed and—” he waved a hand in Chuuya’s general direction. “It was supposed to summon a god, but I hadn’t finished my edits…” He forced himself to stop rambling before he gave a sheepish, “Sorry?”
Chuuya ran a hand down his face, one eye closed and the other glaring at him in exasperation. “Can you send me back?”
Dazai nodded. Very reasonable question. “…Not quite.”
Or: Dazai accidentally casts a half-finished god-summoning spell. Believing it to have failed, he continues his attempts out of curiosity but only ever summons one little redhead.
