"Oh," he said tentatively. Another hewmin thing! He shuffled closest to the wall Grace was huhging and leaned in. "Oh. Am I doing correctly, hmm?"
"Yis," Grace sighed out, calming down. He still leaked, though.
Oh, well. Leaky hewmins were his favorite, after all.

I can’t go home yet; I don’t want to face Adrian’s gentle comfort; I don’t deserve it. I can’t do anything useful anymore. I did my job and saved the planet, and I guess that’s it. No more engineering for Rocky. Maybe I’ll pick up something else, a new career to fill my time if no one will utilize my painstakingly crafted talents in the engineering world anymore. No, I can’t even pretend. I love engineering, I love making things, working on things, making things better. I need a project to fill up my thoughts until nothing else fits. Why won’t they give me one?
Grace would give me one. He loves my inventions, praises me more than I can stand to hear. He wants my work still, right? I’m already halfway to the dome before I even realize it. It’s late for Grace, he might not even be awake, but I need to meet him. I need him.
or Grace settles into Erid life pretty easily. Rocky struggles to do the same.

While researching human needs Rocky learns about touch starvation and the importance of touching for humans. Worried for Grace's well-being, Rocky plans several different ways to provide Grace with the touching intimacy he needs to be healthy. Rocky expects to be praised for his initiative and ingenuity, but instead Grace's reaction is…concerning.
I realize that as I’ve been trying to imagine a nice, pleasant hug, I’ve actually stressed myself out a little. I can’t help but frown and slightly grimace at the thought. This can’t be normal. Humans enjoy touching! Imagining a hug should be comforting. It should reduce stress.

Summary
On their way back to Erid, Rocky and Grace discover a mysterious box. Upon opening it, the two discover some strange changes. Well, perhaps way more than strange.
Rocky finds a new marking on his arm similar to Grace's scar, and Grace finds markings similar to Rocky's on his arms and legs.
Rocky begins to dream and can easily wake from sleep, and Grace can stay up for much longer than a normal human should.
Grace starts seeing sound when it's too dark to properly see, and Rocky starts seeing pops of colour in his sound vision.
Neither can understand what's happening to them and how they're seemingly linked together, but they know there's nothing in the world that could tear them apart.
(TLDR: This fic will include almost everyone's favourite things! Rocky learns about how Grace got on the Hail Mary (Including Rocky witnessing the memory of Grace being sent on the Hail Mary)! Grace can survive in Rocky's atmosphere! Grace will live as long as Rocky! Rocky and Adrian reuinite and Adrian meets Grace! Grace has told Rocky that there is a complete imprint of the human’s internet available on the Hail Mary. He had assumed it was captured before he left Earth but was wrong; the capture was made on the very last day as the crew transferred from the ISS to the Hail Mary. They wanted them to have the last possible version, the most up-to-date information. It has never occurred to Grace that this would be here.
