1700+ years before the Avatar world we are familiar with, an already realized avatar, Feiyu Dǎi, suffers a major defeat from the recently instated Earth King Taag and must gather a team of familiar and new master benders to retrain her in every element.

Summary
“ Long before I had my arrows and even before I could properly use my own Glider. I had an interesting encounter during one of my early relief expeditions across the Earth Kingdom.”
In a distant past from the Avatar world we are familiar with, Airbender Nun, Naanyen recounts a childhood experience during a time of great strife within the Earth Kingdom.
She meets a Boy her age who had been directly affected by these circumstances and she inquires, learning more about what it’s like living outside the walls of the Eastern Air Temple and learn more about her heritage, being half Earth National.
The first entry in a line of short story Tales with different characters in different eras of the extended ATLA world.

Summary
The Avatar is now a hollow shell of her previous self after "The North Pole: II". Her unofficial lover Tarmik is having a hard time dealing with that fact.
He supposes that reminiscing on some memories may help comfort him, unfortunately that doesn't always work.(or: an old drabble i rediscovered of my two ocs, those that are in my main "Era of Avatar Yarri fic" and decided to post)
p.s. this is inspired by the relatively popular song Sienna by The Marías, which has semi become like Their Song

btw: Yarri was born at the Eastern air temple in 816 BG (so a long time before the avatar series takes place) she’s is in the cycle before yangchen.
"The avatar state" is what Yarri learns it is called. A deadly source of power and destruction rooted deep in her own spirit, with enough raw strength to preform bending feats the greatest masters could hardly dream of.
But, in an era where the peacemaking job of the avatar is needed so desperately, with the tensions reaching a boiling point between earth kingdom leaders and citizens, and fire nation islands left in poverty and disarray. The world leaders crumble under pressure and beg for the avatars help.
can this avatar really make a difference? should she try? is she even right to be the avatar? is she strong enough?
Yarri doesnt know much about the work thats cut out for her, but she does know that its her job until death, and hers only.

“Hi,” he murmurs.
“Hi, Captain boomerang.”
His laugh is quiet against her skin, breath hot against her ear. And despite herself a heat rises to her cheeks.
“Wasn’t it beautiful?” he asks softly, “The ceremony I mean.”
“Yeah,” she says. “They're disgustingly perfect for each other.”
He snorts, “Right? It makes me sick,” His arms tighten around her waist and she hates herself for noticing. For a few moments they sit there in peaceful silence listening to the chatter around them and the music in the background.
Then Sokka breaks the silence, “I think Aang knew from the beginning.”
She blinks, “Knew what?”
“That Katara was it for him,” His voice oddly vulnerable.
“And you?” she asks before thinking, “Have you ever felt that way about someone?”
