    Case fic is probably not all that good, it's more about how Mulder deals with it and how Scully tries to help him through it. More about their interactions with each other I guess and Mulder's past. So if you're only here for the case file, you'll probably be disappointed.

    It does get pretty nasty at times, (though no rape scenes) but I've tried to lighten it as much as poss with Mulder and Scully's love for each other.

    Scully reluctantly attends a weekend team-building conference, a task she was meant to tackle alongside Mulder. However, Mulder abandons her last minute to chase down a case in New Mexico, leaving her feeling frustrated and stranded. Meanwhile, a newly transferred agent takes notice of Scully's intriguing presence and introduces himself. The two soon find themselves paired up for the duration of the conference.

    Scully begins to recall what normalcy feels like—the warmth of a meaningful connection, the comfort of being touched and held, and the freedom of living without the protective walls around her heart. When those walls finally crumble before another man, he opens her up to parts of herself she’d long kept hidden, almost forgotten. In this newfound vulnerability, Scully realizes that her heart has already chosen its path, guiding her to a deeper truth: her love lies somewhere else, in a place that has been quietly waiting for her all along.
