“I don’t一” Simon’s voice is soft and broken and he hates it, he hates the fear permeating his entire body. “I don’t want you to be a hallucination.”
Grace’s faint mumbles and a strange whistling voice die down. Then Grace says, “This is real. It’s real, and we’re getting you out. I promise.”
Simon closes his eyes. He breathes out.
“My name,” he says. His voice is rough with unshed tears. “My name is Simon.”

“This okay?” Simon muttered, the vibrations from his words rippling across Grace’s stomach.
“Yes… yes I just…” Grace struggled to catch his breath. “This was not how I was expecting tonight to go.”
Simon paused his kisses. “How did you see this going?”
“I don’t know. We would… talk about it?”
“Do you want to talk instead?”
Grace couldn’t even remember what he wanted to say. Actually, there were no words that described what he wanted. “No. No, keep going.”

Summary
The light from the fire crackled as it warmed him; blue eyes watched the bright flames dance in the fire pit of the chimney as his hand tried to touch it. How long has it been since he had felt any sort of warmth? He doesn't remember the last time he felt so...at peace with himself, with life in general. After Dr. Gero kidnapped him and his sister and turned them into killing machines, life had lost its luster. He thought that they were lost and they would never find joy in the simple things anymore. After their mission of killing Son Goku, they were supposed to be deactivated and returned to the darkness.
He doesn't want to go back to that darkness, to be suspended in that endless emptiness.
