Summary
What he saw had him pausing, his stomach rolling from where Phil’s hand shot up to cover his mouth. Wilbur was stock still, eyes wide and watery. Techno wanted to assume it was from the blazing heat they felt even from here…but he knew better.
What remained of the village he’d visited only once in passing were smoldering remains of crackling foundations and house-frames held together by stubbornness alone. All were blackened beyond repair, stonework cracked and smeared with black ash from what had to have been an explosion. No wildfire did this- as the papers had so clearly described, but nor did they account for the village in question being reduced to rubble. Smoke rose from the ashes and encircled the heavens like a halo, raining ashen tears upon the land, desperate for its story to be told. However, it was Wilbur who was the storyteller here- and for once in his life, he seemed to have fallen silent. It was more unnerving than the village, in Techno’s opinion, though his thoughts were seldom ever asked for to begin with.
“What…”
“The…”
“Fuck,” Wilbur finished helpfully.

Summary
Mk had wondered how much Monkey King's golden fillet must have hurt, but he'd never wanted to know.
He doesn't have much of a choice now.
