“Cold outside, huh?” He asks. Frank wants to kick him out so he can try what it really means. He probably has a house, heating, food, a shower and clothes. Always trying to pretend they know shit, fucking volunteers. Asking fucking questions, wanting answers, wanting homeless people to socialise, because of course, they'd do it. Unlike other volunteers Frank has met, however, this one does not seem to expect a reply at all. He doesn’t press. He just pours the soup in the cup, filling it to the brim – another thing Frank rarely sees volunteers doing. Maybe they have extra food today, or not many people came here. Lucky day, after all.

Summary
Frank has struggled with addiction ever since his mom started chemo. When she went into remission, he moved in with his friend Ray, and things went off the rails. He's feeling sorry for himself when he meets a mysterious stranger at a bar. Leading a dangerous lifestyle, he tries to keep to himself- but Gerard is not an easy man to hide from. Once he learns of the dark situations Frank has gotten himself into, he takes on trying to help him clean up with the assistance of Ray. Everything about Frank's submissive personality suits Gerard's dominant side- but maybe they're just swapping one addiction for another. It's clear that helping Frank is going to take everything Gerard can offer, he just has to hope it will be enough.
